When can I RSVP?

Invitations with RSVP instructions will be mailed in the Fall. However, if you know you will not be able to join us in Switzerland please let us know as soon as possible.

When should I book accommodation?

March is peak season in Zermatt. We recommend securing accommodation now. Some hotels have generous cancellation policies. If you’re unsure if you’ll be able to attend, book a hotel now and cancel it if needed.

How many days should I spend in Zermatt?

It’s totally up to you. However, to make the trip worth it, we suggest spending at least three nights.

Are my kids invited to the wedding?

While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only event.

What will the weather be like?

March in Zermatt is typically sunny in the 30s° a 40s°F, but it can also be snowy. If it’s sunny, it’ll feel warm during the day. Nights cool off to an average of 20° - 30°F.

What’s après-ski chic attire (welcome party attire)?

What’s formal attire (wedding attire)?

We’d love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our wedding day. Ladies, dresses that hit below the knee, formal jumpsuits/pant suits, or dressy separates are all appropriate. Gentlemen, if you own a tux this is a great occasion to do your best James Bond impression. If you don’t own a tux, please don’t rent one; a dark suit and tie will be perfect.

Is Zermatt on the Ikon Pass?

It’s on the Ikon Base Pass (5 days) and Ikon Pass (7 days). Buy your pass here. Note: The Italian side (Cervinia / Valtournenche) is not included on the Ikon Pass. The day pass upgrade for the Italian side is CHF 46.

How much are lift tickets?

A day pass is CHF 83. Consecutive days are discounted slightly. Kids 8 & under ski for free. If you’re skiing for two or more days, purchase the International pass and choose a day to ski over to Italy. More information on lift tickets can be found here.

Do you recommend I bring my skis or rent?

In the Alps you’ll find mostly long, groomed runs. You’ll have more fun on a carving ski. We suggest bringing your ski boots but leaving your all-mountain skis at home (travel lighter!). Rent or demo carving skis from Bayard in town (Bahnhofplatz location).

What’s the best way to get around Zermatt?

Everything is walkable within 15 minutes. There aren’t any cars in Zermatt, but there is a public e-Bus and there are e-Taxis. Most hotels offer pick up and drop off at the train station.

What language is spoken there?

Zermatt is in the German speaking region of Switzerland. Swiss German is the spoken dialect, but everyone speaks English as well.
